A small
second hand store opened in 1974 by Ed and Sarah Scott.
In 1995, the new building was built
creating more space for growth, storage, living accommodations and room to
rent space to another business.
Esquimalt
Trading is now managed by Ed and Sarah's son Doug and his employee, Mike.
A family run business they loan money on collateral and sell used items of
all kinds with a 30 day warranty. Along with jewelry repairs, they also
offer a layaway plan for their customers.
Doug likes being able to work with people
in the community and watching the children of their customers grow up.
Being involved in the community by helping different non-profit
organizations raise funds through donations of goods from Esquimalt
Trading is also high on the list of things that make the Scott's happy.
Some of the organizations that have benefited from generosity are the
Scouting Groups, Baseball and Esquimalt Neighbourhood House.
